“The King is Back” – Twitter explodes as Virat Kohli scores first fifty of the season

Finally, Virat Kohli crosses the 50-run barrier in the IPL 2022. Usually, you don’t associate such words with the Run Machine but such has been the form of Inda’s former skipper that fans were waiting for his fifty for ages.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are up against Gujarat Titans in the 43rd match of the IPL 2022 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. Royal Challengers Bangalore entered this game in a dire need of a win after losing two back-to-back fixtures.

RCB’s skipper Faf du Plessis chose to bat first after winning the vital toss. However, the Reds once again had a terrible start as the skipper lost his wicket in the 2nd over without opening his account.

With Virat Kohli struggling for form, fans feared another top-order collapse for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, Rajat Patidar joined the senior pro in the middle and the duo shared a crucial partnership for the 2nd wicket.

Virat Kohli scores his first fifty of the season

Rajat Patidar took the role of the aggressor in the partnership that give Virat Kohli time to settle down. The duo added 99 runs for the 2nd wicket stand to stabilize the RCB innings. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli ended a long wait by scoring his first fifty of the season. The former India skipper scored 58 runs off 53 deliveries before getting bowled off Mohammad Shami’s yorker.

Rajat Patidar also played a fiery knock of 52 runs off 32 deliveries to provide the Royal Challengers with a solid platform for a big finish. However, Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell could not finish with the desired impact.

Meanwhile, the young Indian duo of Mahipal Lomror and Shahbaz Ahmed pushed the RCB total to a decent total of 170/6 in 20 overs.

Twitter exploded after Virat Kohli’s fifty as fans were happy to see their favourite superstar scoring runs.
