Team India’s predicted 15-man squad for South Africa Tests
India would be keen to make history by winning the Test series in South Africa.
13. Mohammed Siraj
The Indian national cricket team required someone young to bowl at a brisk pace. Just as when the selectors were keeping a tab on the developing youths, they thought Mohammed Siraj would do well. The Hyderabad-born pacer didn’t disappoint us one bit.
He brought the best out of himself in the Border Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia. In fact, he turned up the ante on Australian soil and finished as the highest wicket-taker for India despite missing one Test. He took as many as 13 wickets including a five-wicket haul.
Siraj went on to play 9 Tests for India where he took 30 wickets to his name at an average of 29.40. The right-arm fast bowler proved his worth against England too. He will be one of the young pacers to watch out for in the upcoming Test series.
