SA vs IND 2023: Team India’s predicted XI for first T20I against South Africa

Middle-Order: Ishan Kishan (wk), Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh

Ishan Kishan is likely to be the wicketkeeper batter in the line-up ahead of Jitesh Sharma, who did well in his debut series. Kishan also had great with the bat as he smashed two fifty-plus scores in three games against Australia.
Shreyas Iyer is an automatic pick in the middle-order. Though he couldn’t do much in the last two games, his quality cannot be questioned especially after the World Cup. The inclusion of top-order batters means skipper Suryakumar Yadav might have to drop a position.
The best thing is he can still be lethal as he is equipped and experienced enough to take the responsibility. Rinku Singh’s selection is a no brainer after what he has done in his short international career. The management would be keen to groom him for the finisher role.
