Rajasthan Royals rose from the ashes and performed brilliantly well altogether as a team in the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. The inaugural IPL champions made it all the way to the finals of the competition under the captaincy of Sanju Samson. They locked horns with Gujarat Titans in the final and ended up losing the final showdown.

Rajasthan Royals won their maiden IPL title in the inaugural season back in 2008. They defeated Chennai Super Kings in the final to win the title. However, since then, it took them over 14 years to reach the second final but they let the opportunity slip away. Overall, Rajasthan Royals have made it to the playoffs five times in their history.

On the other end of the spectrum, Sunrisers Hyderabad made its entry into the IPL in the 2013 edition. They carved out a reputation for themselves as one of the most consistent teams in the competition. Notably, they have qualified for the playoffs six times, which is quite a superb record, given that they have played ten seasons in the tournament.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s best season was recorded in the IPL 2016 season when they made it all the way to the finals of the competition. Notably, they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final to win their maiden IPL title. Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight runs to lift the trophy.

Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad have locked horns with each other on 16 occasions in the history of the Indian Premier League. In fact, when both teams crossed swords with each other, it was always an even-steven affair.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won eight games whereas Rajasthan Royals also won eight games. In the last meeting between these two teams, Rajasthan Royals got the better of Sunrisers Hyderabad by 61 runs in Pune in the IPL 2022 season.
