Rajasthan Royals ran through ups and downs in India’s premier T20 competition. As a team, they drew plaudits for performing well in fragments but failed to bring the best out of themselves in clutch moments, more often than not. This is precisely the reason why they were unable to produce a series of consistent results over the seasons.
Despite their lean patch, their loyal fans rooted for the team through thick and thin. In the inaugural edition of the IPL, Rajasthan Royals beat Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2008 final to win their maiden IPL title. After 14 long years, they reached the second IPL final in the 2022 edition but lost to Gujarat Titans in the final showdown.
On the other hand, Gujarat Titans were newly inducted into the Indian Premier League in the 2022 edition. Under the guidance of Ashish Nehra and under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, Gujarat Titans qualified for the playoffs in their first attempt. Besides that, they even extended their dominance beyond the playoffs.
Notably, they were quite good in clutch moments. They defeated Rajasthan Royals in the first qualifier and made it to the finals of the competition. Hardik Pandya and Co were head and shoulders above Rajasthan Royals across all aspects of the game. They went on to beat Rajasthan Royals in the final to win their maiden IPL title in their debut season.

Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals locked horns with each other on four occasions so far in the history of the Indian Premier League. In IPL 2022 edition, both teams squared off each other on three occasions.
Notably, Gujarat Titans dominated the opposition by securing three wins on the trot, including their famous win in the IPL 2022 final. However, Rajasthan Royals broke the shackles and eventually notched up their first win over Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023 season.
