Team India flew to a solid start to their Asia Cup 2022 campaign as they beat Pakistan by 5 wickets in their opener game at the Dubai International Stadium.

Winning the toss, Indian captain Rohit Sharma invited the opponents to bat first, which turned out to be a good decision as the defending champions picked up a couple of early wickets. But Mohammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed offered some resistance against the effective Indian bowling attack.

However, the Men in Green kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and managed to post only 147 in their 20 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya struck four and three times respectively.

In response, Naseem Shah gave a big blow to the Men in Blue as he sent opener KL Rahul back to the pavilion in his very first over. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also handed their wickets to Mohammad Nawaz after building a 49-run partnership.
