Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the very few teams that are yet to taste IPL glory since the inaugural edition of India’s premier T20 competition. They are known for their reputation for qualifying for the playoffs eight times in their history. However, when it comes to reaching the IPL final, they have achieved the feat three times so far.
Nonetheless, they lost all three crucial finals in a disappointing manner. They lost their first IPL final against Deccan Chargers (now-defunct) in the 2009 final. RCB made it to the second IPL final in the 2011 season but surrendered at the hands of Chennai Super Kings in the final. RCB reached the third IPL final in the 2016 edition but failed to come out on top against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Talking about their performance in the last season of the IPL, they made it to the playoffs by finishing fourth on the table. Besides that, they went on to knock Lucknow Super Giants out of the competition. Unfortunately, they failed to bring the best out of themselves while taking on Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans surprised all other teams in the last edition.
Gujarat Titans led by Hardik Pandya made the IPL debut in the 2022 edition. The Ahmedabad-based franchise qualified for the playoffs by finishing first on the IPL 2022 points table. Besides that, they went on to beat Rajasthan Royals in the first qualifier and made it to the finals. Gujarat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 final to win their maiden IPL title in their debut season.
