RCB sign uncapped Afghanistan leg-spinner Izharulhaq Naveed as a net bowler
Royal Challengers Bangalore will start their IPL 2022 campaign on March 27, Sunday. They will cross swords with Punjab Kings at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. RCB have already begun their preparations for the next season which is a few days away from going all guns blazing.
Virat Kohli had stepped down from captaincy duties post the IPL 2021 season. Former CSK player Faf du Plessis who has been roped in by RCB at the mega auction will lead the team for the next season. RCB are one of the teams who are yet to win a title since the inaugural season of the IPL.
They have great ammunition in their batting and bowling department. They are expected to give everything on the field in order to get hold of the championship for the first time. As far as the last season is concerned, RCB qualified for the playoffs but couldn’t extend their power further.
RCB sign Izharulhaq Naveed as a net bowler
Net bowlers play a quintessential role in helping the batters sort out the woes in the nets. The IPL teams were a bit busy signing a few net bowlers for the next season. Meanwhile, RCB have purchased the services of young uncapped Afghanistan leg-spinner, Izharulhaq Naveed as a net bowler.
It is going to be a perfect learning curve for the 18-year-old youngster, who was part of the Under-19 World Cup squad in 2022. The youngster hogged the limelight by putting up a great show in the World Cup. He bagged 4 wickets to his name in six games at a sensational economy rate of 3.63
The leg-spinner has got a point to prove in the RCB training camp. If he manages to impress everyone, then he is destined to earn a contract in the IPL in the future. He will get an opportunity to bowl to Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell, which is indeed a big step forward for him.
