The Netherlands cricket team recently hogged the limelight after they successfully qualified for ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. The Dutch occupied the final spot by defeating Scotland by four wickets at the Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo on July 6, Thursday. Batting first, Scotland posted a competitive total of 277/9 in their quota of 50 overs.
In response, the Netherlands cricket team accumulated 278/6 in 42.5 overs. Bas de Leede was the pick of the batters for the Netherlands as he scored 123 off 92 balls. He constructed his innings with the help of seven boundaries and five hits over the fence. The Netherlands aced the run-chase with a ball to spare. It was well and truly a memorable moment for them.
On the other hand, Scotland tried their maximum best to stop the Dutch but that wasn’t meant to be. Brandon McMullen top-scored for Scotland with 106 off 110 balls including eleven boundaries and three sixes. Meanwhile, Bas de Leede was the pick of the bowlers for the Netherlands. He bowled really well and registered 5/52 in his quota of 10 overs.
This special win confirms that they will be playing in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The marquee tournament is slated to be held entirely in India. The Netherlands will be playing in the World Cup for the fourth time. They will be looking forward to performing well this time. They will kick-start their campaign against the Pakistan cricket team at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad on October 6.
