Jofra Archer is one of the very few bowlers in the present era who made instant impact with the ball ever since he made his international debut for the England cricket team. The Barbados-born pacer let the ball do the talking across all formats of the game. Overall, he has represented England in 13 Tests, 17 ODIs and 12 T20Is.
Had it not been for his frequent injuries, he would have gone on to play more games for the national cricket team. Sadly, he had to miss the eighth edition of the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia. However, the England cricket team went on to win the T20 World Cup for the second time by beating the Pakistan cricket team in the final in Melbourne.
Archer has accounted for 42 dismissals in the longest format, bagging as many as three 5-wicket-hauls to his name. It is worth mentioning here that he registered his personal best bowling figures of 6/45 against the Australian cricket team during the third Ashes Test in 2019.
He drew plaudits for his lethal bowling spell that decimated Australia’s batting line-up. On the other hand, he has taken 30 wickets in the 50-over format and 14 wickets in the Twenty20 Internationals.
England paceman Jofra Archer hits the nets
It is no secret that the England paceman, Jofra Archer, has been out of cricketing action for a long time now. He has quite often missed international cricket owing to a string of injuries that he has been sustaining during the passage of play. However, after a long time, he is now back in the nets.
Meanwhile, a video clip featuring Jofra Archer has been doing the rounds on the internet. The clip begins with the fast bowler delivering the red cherry to one of the English batsmen as part of the customary training session. England’s Barmy Army posted the video on their official Twitter handle. The caption of the post reads, “Jofra back in the nets and looking rapid”
The 27-year-old should be able to make a national comeback anytime soon. On top of that, he is expected to combine with Jasprit Bumrah to play a formidable role for the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Mumbai Indians’ pace battery looks so lethal as fans look forward to seeing Archer back in action.
