LLC Masters 2023: Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina joins India Maharajas

The tournament will kick off on March 10.

Suresh Raina has been one of the key players of the Indian cricket team during the playing days of his cricketing career. He has played a handful of match-winning knocks for the team when it mattered the most. Moreover, he was best known for scoring runs at a rate of knots. Having represented India in 226 ODIs, 78 T20Is and 18 Tests, he chipped in with significant contributions to the team.

Suresh Raina scored 5615 runs including five centuries and 36 half-centuries in One Day Internationals. On the other hand, he has scored 1605 runs in 78 T20Is including one century and 16 fifties in Twenty20 Internationals. He scored 768 runs including one century and seven fifties to his name in Test cricket. Suresh Raina was famously known as “Mr IPL” for his exceptional contribution to the IPL.

He was once the leading run-scorer in the cash-rich IPL. Having been one of the core members of CSK, Raina has won five titles as a player. Besides that, he is also the leading run-scorer for CSK. He has aggregated 5528 runs including 1 century and 39 fifties at a strike rate of 136.7. Raina announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020.

Suresh Raina joins India Maharajas to take part in LLC Masters 2023

Meanwhile, in the latest development, Suresh Raina has joined the India Maharajas team to feature in the Legends League Cricket Masters. The southpaw will be looking forward to a new chapter of his career. He still has a lot more to deliver as a cricketer. Legends League Cricket Masters will go all guns blazing from March 10 onwards at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium in Doha.

Legends League Cricket took to their official Twitter handle and then confirmed that Suresh Raina will ply his trade for India Maharajas. The caption of the post reads, “We are pleased to announce @ImRaina as the newest Maharaja to join the @IndMaharajasLLC!” For the record, the LLC Masters comprises three teams, namely, the India Maharajas, the Asia Lions, and the World Giants.


Suresh Raina was pretty much thrilled upon joining the India Maharajas in LLC Masters. He said, “I am looking forward to being part of LLC Masters. The format is such that we will be representing India again. It is always a pleasure to represent your country. We would focus on bringing the trophy home this time. I am really looking forward to playing with all the legends.”
