Gujarat Titans franchise scripted history as they comprehensively got the better of Rajasthan Royals in the final to clinch their maiden title. Hardik Pandya and Co deserve a certificate of excellence for they have done in the competition.

They were clinically strong across all aspects of the game. Besides that, they clearly knew how to handle the pressure in nerve-wracking moments. GT finished the group stage as the table-toppers and were also the first team to qualify for the playoffs.

They defeated Rajasthan Royals in the first qualifier and booked their place in the final. Moreover, they beat the Royals in the final to win their maiden title. Batting first, Rajasthan Royals could score 130/9 in their quota of 20 overs.

In reply, GT did have some hiccups for some time but they braved the odds and got over the line. They won the game by 7 wicket with 11 balls to spare at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Kieron Pollard congratulates Hardik Pandya after winning the title

After Gujarat Titans lifted their maiden title in their debut season, Mumbai Indians’ player Kieron Pollard congratulated his former teammate Hardik Pandya on Instagram. Hardik Pandya took to his Instagram handle and posted a picture of himself holding the trophy.

His caption reads, “CHAMPIONS ???? This is for all the hard work we’ve put in! Congratulations to all the players, staff, fans ❤️❤️❤️ @gujarat_titans”. To which, the former West Indies cricketer, Pollard posted, “???????????? very proud ????????????????????????.. congrats”
