Kamlesh Lachham Nagarkoti announced his arrival in the sport by making his List A debut for the Rajasthan cricket team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament in 2017. He made an instant impact with the ball by taking his maiden hat trick in List A cricket.
The Barmer-born cricketer accomplished the feat during the Vijay Hazare Trophy fixture against the Gujarat cricket team. Impressed by his performances, he was named in India’s squad for the 2018 U-19 Cricket World Cup tournament.
The two-time IPL champions, Kolkata Knight Riders purchased him at the IPL 2018 auction. Needless to say, he didn’t play even a single game owing to an injury. Despite not being able to play a game in that season, he was retained by the franchise for the next season.
Unfortunately, he was again ruled out of the IPL 2019 season due to a back injury. The 23-year-old fast bowler eventually made his Twenty20 debut for KKR in the IPL 2020 season on 26 September 2020.
In the subsequent month of the same year, the right-arm quick was named as one of four additional bowlers to fly with the Indian contingent for their tour to Australia. Just two weeks later, he was ruled out of the tour due to workload management.
