Born on 2nd September 1988, Ishant Sharma is a right-arm pacer from India. Standing at 6’5″ tall, Ishant Sharma came into the limelight at the very young age of 18. Who could forget his unplayable spell to Ricky Ponting in the Perth Test in 2008?
Ishant Sharma soon became an integral part of India’s fast-bowling set-up in both Tests and ODIs. His stocks did fall after a few years but the Delhi-born pacer went back and worked on his skills to develop into a Test-specialist.
The Lanky pacer has represented India in 105 Tests and picked up 311 wickets. Sharma is still actively playing cricket and he was a part of the Delhi Capitals franchise in IPL 2023.
Who is Ishant Sharma’s wife Pratima Singh Solanki?
Born in the holy city of Varanasi in UP on 6th February 1990, Pratima Singh is a member of India Women’s National Basketball team. Interestingly, Pratima has four elder sisters and all of them have represented India in basketball. In fact, all five sisters have starred for India in the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. Meanwhile, Prashanti Singh (one of the sisters) is also the current skipper of the India Women’s basketball team. She is also an Arjuna Award and Padma Shri winner.
Pratima Singh is an alumna of Jesus & Mary College (Delhi University). In 2010, she captained Delhi University to the gold medal in the All India Inter-University Games, Kottayam, Kerala. In 2013, Pratima also won a gold medal for India in the first-ever 3*3 FIBA Asia Championship.

In 2011, Ishant Sharma was invited as the Chief Guest at Delhi’s IGMA Basketball Association League. Pratima Singh caught the eyes of the pacer as the speedster fell in love at first sight.
Later, a mutual friend introduced the duo to each other and Pratima accepted Ishant’s friend request on Facebook.
When did Ishant Sharma and Pratima Singh get married?
After dating for more than one year, Ishant asked Pratima to marry him. The couple got engaged on 19th June 2016 in Varanasi and they later got married during the same year on 9th December.
The wedding ceremony was a star-studded affair as Sharma’s fellow cricketers, including MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh alongside the wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt marked their presence to bless the newlyweds.
