IPL 2025: Predicted XI of Mumbai Indians (MI) for the season
Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar
It is no secret that MI’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is one of the best T20 bowlers in the world. Known for his pin-point yorkers and ability to bowl under pressure, Jasprit Bumrah was retained by INR 18 crore ahead of the auction. He will be leading the bowling attack from the front.
Then comes the experienced campaigner, Trent Boult, who has all the tools and ingredients to give the opposition batters a run for their money. The left-arm pacer is a master in swinging the new ball and has been a potent weapon, particularly in the powerplay overs.
His ability to take early wickets in the powerplay overs sets him apart from most other bowlers in the tournament. MI did the right thing to re-sign for INR 12.5 crore at the auction. He took 121 wickets in 104 games in the IPL whereas Bumrah took 165 wickets in 133 appearances including 2 fifers.
Former CSK paceman Deepak Chahar is another skilled paceman who adds variety to the team’s attack. Apart from Boult, he also has the potential to pick wickets in the powerplay overs. MI roped in the three-time IPL winner with CSK, for INR 9.25 crore at the mega auction. He has bagged 77 wickets in 81 games.
