IPL 2023: Predicting strongest starting XI of Rajasthan Royal (RR) for the season
Rajasthan Royals are looking well balanced.
Middle-Order: Sanju Samson (c & wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer
Sanju Samson is undoubtedly one of the most talented batters in the world at present. He is most likely to bat No. 3 so that he gets enough time to play big innings. Last season, he smashed 458 runs in 17 matches at an average of 28.63 and a strike-rate of 146.79. If RR wants to do well, then Samson’s performance will be a key.
Devdutt Padikkal has managed to impress everyone ever since making his IPL debut. Although he prefers to play as an opener, he can also do well in the middle-order. Last year RR used him as a slogger, to which he did somewhat justice. Once again, he is likely to be assigned the same role.
Shimron Hetmyer was one of the top performers for RR last season. He was responsible for accelerating the run-rate and providing a strong finish for his side. In 15 games, he smashed 314 runs at an average of 44.86 and a strike-rate of 153.92. Hence, he will be expected to perform similarly this season as well.
