A new era began for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2022 as Virat Kohli stepped down from the captaincy and the Bangalore-based franchise appointed Faf du Plessis as the new skipper. The Royal Challengers from Bangalore had a decent season as they reached the playoffs by finishing 4th in the points table.

Then they defeated Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator to reach Qualifier 2. However, they failed to reach the final after losing Qualifier 2 to the Rajasthan Royals. There were a couple of weak areas in RCB’s squad last season and they will be looking to enforce those areas by adding a couple of quality players.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have trusted their squad ahead of next season. They have only released four players, including one overseas player, Sherfane Rutherford. They have a remaining purse of INR 8.75 crore and need to fill seven slots, including two overseas slots.

In this post, we will take a look at the top three players Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) could sign in mini-auction.

Mandeep Singh played for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League 2022. However, the batter failed to impress with the bat as he could only score 18 runs in three matches for the franchise. Subsequently, the Delhi-based franchise let the batter go ahead of the IPL 2023.

With all four overseas slots occupied in RCB’s playing XI, the Bangalore-based franchise needs a quality Indian batter at number five and Mandeep Singh could be a perfect fit. Moreover, the batter has already played for the franchise in the past.

Mandeep Singh was in decent touch during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as he scored 112 runs in 5 innings at a healthy average of 37.33 and a wonderful strike rate of 149.33. Moreover, he batted mostly at number five for Punjab during the competition.
