Marcus Stoinis returned to the IPL and debuted for his new side with a bang. The Aussie all-rounder played a brilliant knock of unbeaten 38 runs off 17 deliveries against Rajasthan Royals.

Stoinis almost pulled off a heist with his explosive batting as Lucknow Super Giants lost the game by three runs. Many felt that the Super Giants held the all-rounder back for a little too long, and the mistake cost them the match.

However, in the game against Mumbai Indians, the Super Giants promoted Marcus Stoinis to the fourth number. The stage was set for the all-rounder as Quinton de Kock, and the Skipper KL Rahul provided the team with a solid start. However, Manish Pandey came in and snitched another vital partnership once de Kock was gone.

The team management sent Stoinis out after the wicket of Manish Pandey. The LSG side was looking for a big finish with only 40 deliveries remaining and eight wickets in hand.

At the time of writing, the match is hanging balance with Mumbai Indians requiring 79 runs off 34 deliveries. Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard are present in the middle.
