His consistent performances have garnered appreciation from all corners and there have been noises to include him in the Indian T20 side. There are still five games left in the competition for Punjab Kings and Arshdeep will look to put weight behind his chances with several strong performances.
“Looking to perform whenever I am getting the opportunity” – Arshdeep Singh
Speaking during the post-match presentation after Lucknow Super Kings defeated Punjab Kings by 20 runs on Friday, Arshdeep said, “I am happy but a sportsperson is never satisfied. Grateful to be able to perform for the team whenever I am getting the opportunity.”
“I don’t focus on individual performances because it is a team game. You just need to perform the role you have been assigned. My plan has always been to a bowl in good areas and lets the batter make mistakes and in death overs, I just try to keep things simple,” he concluded.
Arshdeep Singh has played 32 IPL matches in his career so far. He has accounted for 33 wickets at a strike rate of 19.3, including a five-for.
Meanwhile, his IPL team Punjab Kings are in deep water currently. They are standing on the verge of the elimination after managing only four wins and five losses after nine matches.
