IPL 2021: RCB rope in Wanindu Hasaranga as Adam Zampa’s replacement

Wanindu Hasaranga impressed everyone in India's tour of Sri Lanka.

Royal Challengers Bangalore might not have won a title but they have shown positive signs after they made changes in the squad. At first, the franchise offered the head coach role to Mike Hesson. This development comes after Simon Katich resigned as head coach.

The former Australian international stepped down from the duties due to personal reasons. It gave an opportunity for Mike Hesson to take over as head coach. Earlier, he was working as a Director of Cricket Operations at the RCB.

Virat Kohli-led RCB’s performance in the ongoing edition of the IPL has by far been good. They are third in the IPL 2021 points table with 5 wins and 2 defeats in 7 games. RCB are the only team that made it to the finals on three instances and lost all of them.

However, it is good to see the fans passionately rooting for the RCB. The fans play an important role in uplifting the team’s morale. RCB will be looking forward to silencing the critics and get hold of the coveted trophy for the first time.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanidu Hasaranga to the RCB Family for the second leg of #IPL 2021 in UAE. He replaces Adam Zampa who is unavailable,” Royal Challengers Bangalore took to their official Twitter handle to share the good news with fans.

Australia’s Adam Zampa has opted out of the second phase of the IPL. Wanindu Hasaranga has replaced him. Apart from that, RCB announced two more new signings. They roped in fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera and Singapore’s Tim David for IPL 2021.

RCB signed three players after some players pulled out of the tournament. New Zealand’s Finn Allen and Scott Kuggeleijn were selected for national team duty for the series against Bangladesh. On the other hand, Daniel Sams and Kane Richardson made themselves unavailable for the second leg of the tournament.
