KL Rahul has been a pillar of the Indian batting for a while now. Alongside Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, he is a key batter for the Indian batting unit. However, ever since he has returned to the Indian side from a lengthy injury layoff, many questions have been raised about his place in the Indian team. More so, the critics haven’t been happy with KL Rahul’s strike rate.
The stylish batter smashed a beautiful fifty in the opening game against Australia but could not do much in the next two games. KLR once again scored an unbeaten fifty in the first game against South Africa but a lot of people were not happy with his slow batting despite him holding one end on a tricky wicket. KL Rahul answered every one with his bat as he scored consecutive fifties by playing a wonderful knock in the 2nd T20I against the Proteas.
On Sunday, India are up against South Africa in the 2nd T20I game in Guwahati. The South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and invited Men in Blue to bat first. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came out all guns blazing and provided the team with a fiery start. KLR, in particular, looked menacing from the word go as he sent Kagiso Rabada for a boundary on the opening delivery of the game.
KL Rahul shuts down the critics with an explosive fifty
The Indian opener was under the scanner for his slow strike rate. However, the KLassy batter didn’t look bothered as he smoked a fifty off 24 deliveries against the Proteas. KL gave the upcoming batters a massive platform to capitalize as he returned to the pavilion after scoring 57 runs off 28 deliveries. His knock included five boundaries and four maximums and has a strike rate of 203.57.
The fans looked impressed with the opener and took the social media to let out their feelings.
