Shubman Gill is likely to retain his no. 3 position after he finally breached the three-mark figure in the second Test match. However, he needs to keep firing with the bat, especially in the absence of other senior batters.

It seems like Sarfaraz Khan is finally going to get his Test cap for the national side. With KL Rahul ruled out of the game, the management would want to push him at the no. 4 position. He has been performing in the domestic circuit for long and has all the tools required to succeed.

Rajat Patidar made his Test debut in the second match but couldn’t do much. He was dismissed for 32 and 9 in the first and second innings respectively. However, the think tank would like to give him more opportunities to prove his worth.

Reports circulated that the hosts might drop KS Bharat and replace him with young Dhruv Jurel. But with so many injuries already, the management might not want to risk bringing in an inexperienced wicketkeeper to feel the heat.
