IND vs ENG 2024: Team India’s predicted XI for second Test against England

Team India faced an expected defeat at the hands of England in the first match of the ongoing five-match Test series. After securing an advantageous position, the hosts couldn’t keep up the momentum and eventually the result came against their will.

Things aren’t looking good for the Men in Blue as KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja are already out of contention for the second match. The Men in Blue will not even have the services of veteran Virat Kohli.

With so many injuries in the camp and after facing a moral defeat, Rohit Sharma & Co. are expected to name multiple changes in the playing XI for the second test match, which happens to begin on February 2 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Here is Team India’s predicted XI for the second test match against England:

Openers: Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal

The Indian side is likely to go with the same opening pair. The skipper Rohit Sharma hasn’t been at his best in the recent past. He got off to flying starts in both the innings in the first match but couldn’t convert it into a big knock.

With the pressure building upon him and the team, the veteran batter will be expected to deliver more with the bat. Yashasvi Jaiswal, on the other hand, managed to impress everyone with his blasting approach.

In the first innings, he smashed a 74-ball 80, which helped his side get a big lead. In the second innings also he looked confident and in a great touch. One can expect a hundred from him in the next game.
