It is a stuff of the legends. The King is back to reclaim his throne. Virat Kohli once again proved why is he the GOAT by pulling off the miraculous chase only he could have pulled off on this planet. The run machine rose on the occasion to give India a reason to celebrate before they celebrate Diwali.

India and Pakistan squared off in a blockbuster clash to kickstart their respective World Cup campaigns at the MCG on Sunday. What a game of cricket it was Indo-Pak rivalry lived up to billings as the game was not for the people with faint hearts. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and asked Babar Azam & co. to bat first.

India’s pace duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh made Pakistan’s life hard with the new ball as the latter removed Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan inside the power play. However, Iftikhar Amhed and Shan Masood consolidated Pakistan’s innings as the former took on India’s bowling to score a wonderful fifty.

In the end, Pakistan managed a very competitive total of 159/8 in 20 overs courtesy of some small cameos from Pakistan’s tail-enders.

Chasing the total, India’s top order once again failed to handle the pressure as they crumbled to 31/4 in 6.1 overs. Virat Kohli was joined by Hardik Pandya in the middle as the duo consolidated when the run rate required was creeping up.
