Gambhir was a left-handed opening batsman who played domestic cricket for Delhi and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
He made his international debut for India in 2003 and played a vital role in India’s victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. Gambhir retired from all forms of cricket in December 2018.
