Delhi Capitals have been one of the teams that has shown a great transition over the last few seasons. They have qualified for the playoffs three times in the last four seasons, which goes to show their consistency. Delhi Capitals reached their first IPL final back in 2020 edition. Needless to say, they lost to Mumbai Indians in the epic final.
Overall, Delhi Capitals have made it to the playoffs six times (two-time semi-finalists, one-time finalists, three playoffs). However, in the IPL 2022 season, they narrowly missed out on the trick of making it to the playoffs. They finished fifth on the IPL 2022 points table with seven wins and seven defeats and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
On the other side of the coin, Sunrisers Hyderabad made their IPL debut in the 2013 edition. They have qualified for the playoffs in their debut season before finishing outside the top 4 in the consecutive seasons. Needless to say, they had a breakthrough season in the IPL 2016 edition. Sunrisers Hyderabad made it all the way to the finals under the captaincy of David Warner.
Notably, they got the better of Royal Challengers Bangalore to win their maiden IPL title. In the following season, they qualified for the playoffs before finishing as the runners-up in the IPL 2018 edition where they were beaten by Chennai Super Kings in the final. SRH qualified for the playoffs in IPL 2019 and 2020 seasons. However, they failed to qualify for the playoffs in the next two seasons.
