Biopic on Pravin Tambe featuring Shreyas Talpade to release on 1st April 2022
Making biopics on Indian athletes who made the country proud has become quite common these days. Not long ago, we witnessed Kapil Dev’s biopic ’83’ and it received well by the audience from every nook and corner of the country. Meanwhile, another biopic based out of a cricketer is set to be released soon.
The story is going to be based on a veteran leg-spinner, Pravin Tambe. He hasn’t played any domestic cricket before in his career. However, Rajasthan Royals signed him in the Indian Premier League. Pravin Tambe created waves in the tournament by taking 28 wickets in 33 games.
What makes his storing more inspiring and appealing is the fact that he made his IPL debut at the age of 41. In an age where cricketers retire from the sport, Pravin Tambe made a name for himself by playing the beautiful game at 41. Overall, he played for three franchises in his cricketing career.
Shreyas Talpade to play the lead role in Pravin Tambe’s biopic
Pravin Tambe joined the Rajasthan Royals franchise back in IPL 2013. A few years later, he joined Gujarat Lions franchise in IPL 2016. In the subsequent season, Sunrisers Hyderabad recruited his services. He boasts a pretty healthy record in his T20 career. Notably, he took 70 wickets in 64 games.
As per the report from Indian Express, Shreyas Talpade will portray the lead role of Pravin Tambe in his biopic ‘Kaun Hai Tambe?’. Shreyas Talpade is a recognized actor in Marathi and Hindi movie industries. Moreover, the movie will also feature veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi. The movie is directed by Jayprad Desai and written by Kiran Yadnyopavit.
Talpade and Pravin Tambe had shared the first-look teaser of the biopic. It will be streamed online on Disney + HotStar. Meanwhile, the first-look poster of the movie depicts legendary cricketers including the likes of MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and Yuvraj Singh.
Meanwhile, Shreyas Talpade took to his Twitter handle and posted, “Kaun hai Pravin Tambe? Cricket ka most experienced debutante, and the most inspiring cricket story never told. #KaunPravinTambe, trailer out on 9th March.”
