“Best partnership ever” – Twitter explodes as Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul stitched-up highest opening partnership in the IPL history
Phew!!! What has just happened? On Wednesday, a hailstorm struck Kolkata Knight Riders in the Dr DY Patil Stadium Sports Academy as the Lucknow Super Giants’ opener stitched the highest opening ever in the history of the Indian Premier League.
Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants are up against in the 66th match of the Indian Premier League 2022. It is a vital game for both sides as the Super Giants must win this game to qualify for the playoffs, while the Knight Riders must win this game to stay alive in the competition.
LSG skipper KL Rahul elected to bat first after winning the toss. The skipper alongside his wicketkeeper-batter began the innings with some caution in the beginning. However, both openers soon exploded to smash the bowlers all around the park.

Soon after getting his eyes in, the left-handed southpaw from South Africa exploded. Quinton de Kock remained unbeaten for a record-breaking 140 runs off 70 deliveries. His sensational knock included ten boundaries and ten maximums to send KKR on the backfoot.
Kolkata Knight Riders’ debutant Abhijeet Tomar dropped QDK early in his innings and the Proteas’ wicketkeeper made them pay in some style. Meanwhile, the skipper KL Rahul also played his part with perfection.
The stylish batter from Karnataka played the perfect role of supporter from the other end. KL remained unbeaten for 68 runs off 51 deliveries including three boundaries and four maximums.
The opening duo of KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock carried their bat for 20 overs and added unbeaten 210 runs for the first wicket. It also is the highest-ever opening partnership in the 15 years of IPL history.
Soon after, Twitter exploded as the fans went gaga over the dominating batting display from the new entrants.
