Team India recently locked horns with the Bangladesh cricket team in the three-match ODI series. The first two games ended in favor of Litton Das and Co. Shubman Gill and KL Rahul are likely to open the innings for India in the first Test match against Bangladesh. Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the Test opener due to injury. With Shubman Gill waiting in the wings, he should be getting the chance to open the innings. Gill has performed decently well as an opener in the longest format of the game.
The youngster has played 11 Tests so far, wherein he scored 579 runs at an average of 30.5. Overall, he has slammed four half-centuries to his name. The 23-year-old registered his personal best score of 91 against Australia at The Gabba. He will certainly be looking forward to doing well against Bangladesh. On the other hand, KL Rahul will be leading the team from the front in Rohit Sharma’s absence.
KL Rahul boasts a pretty good batting record as far as the ODI and T20I formats are concerned. On the other hand, he has been pretty decent in the purest format of the game.
