KL Rahul was the only batter to score a fifty for India.
KL Rahul looked back in his prime touch as the Indian batter played a beautiful knock against Bangladesh in the first ODI. The Indian superstar waged a lone battle as none of the other members of the Indian batting unit could turn up with the bat.
India are up against Bangladesh in the first ODI at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka on Sunday. Bangladesh won the toss and invited Rohit Sharma & co. to bat first. Senior returned for Men in Blue, including the skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul.
Rohit Sharma started brilliantly but India lost Shikhar Dhawan early. Virat Kohli alongside the skipper tried to build the Indian innings with s partnership but both senior batters departed in the same over from Shakib Al Hasan.
KL Rahul, who played as a wicketkeeper today, tried to stabilize innings from one end but he kept losing partners from the other end. First, he stitched a 43-run partnership with Shreyas Iyer followed by a 60-run partnership with Washington Sundar. However, once Sundar got out, the Indian batting fell like nine-pins.
KL Rahul fights a lone battle, scores a brilliant fifty
The right-handed batter came to bat at number five for India after the big three were gone. The Indian vice-captain played a vital hand to give the Indian bowlers something to fight for. KL Rahul played a brilliant knock of 73 runs off 70 deliveries, including five fours and four sixes.

In the end, India posted a below-par total of 186/10 in 41.2 overs. Seven of India’s batters could not even reach the double-figure mark.
Fans were really impressed with KL Rahul’s batting as they applauded the batter for fighting a lone hand and saving the face of India’s batting unit.
