Asia Cup 2023: 3 changes India can make in the playing XI against Bangladesh

Bangladesh will aim to finish the tournament on a strong note.

3) Mohammed Shami in place of Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj has jumped the ladders in the recent years, and solidated his position in the side. His exceptional bowling made him a prime choice, even ahead of the quality bowler like Mohammed Shami. However, the management might want to give him some rest to manage his work load.

If that happens, we will finally get to see Mohammed Shami in action in the 2023 Asia Cup. He has been warming the bench as India decided to go with Shardul Thakur as the third pacer due to batting benefits. But one can deny that Shami’s quality is very different from others and no batter is safe when he is on song.

The Bangaldesh match will be a perfect opportunity to provide some match time to Shami as he is in the scheme of things for the mega-event. With Jasprit Bumrah being injury-prone, it would be ideal to keep Shami match ready. It will be a thing to see how he does if he gets the nod.
