Actress Payal Ghosh sends marriage proposal to pacer Mohammed Shami
India’s experienced campaigner, Mohammed Shami has been making waves with the ball in the ongoing ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. The right-arm fast bowler was not included in the playing XI in the first four group stage fixtures by the selectors. Nevertheless, he made a scintillating comeback by taking a wicket in his first delivery against New Zealand. He took five wickets in the same match and was named the Player of the Match.
Despite missing four games, he defied all the odds and became India’s current leading wicket-taker in World Cup 2023. He inflicted damage on Sri Lanka’s batting department, in which he used plenty of cross-seam deliveries to ruffle the batsmen’s feathers. Shami notched up yet another five-wicket haul and earned the Man of the Match award. In the process, he became India’s leading wicket-taker in World Cups with 47 wickets in 15 games.
Mohammed Shami drew plaudits from every nook and corner of the Indian cricket fraternity, courtesy of his disciplined and clinical bowling display. For the record, the fast bowler has been dealing with a lot of personal setbacks in the last few years. In 2018, the fast bowler was accused by his former wife Hasin Jahan who appeared in the Supreme Court for the first time in the bride torture case.

Meanwhile, Indian actress, Payal Ghosh who shared screen space with big actors in regional film industries, hogged the limelight after she expressed her interest in marrying Mohammed Shami. The actress took to her official X handle (previously known as Twitter) and requested Shami to improve his English before sending a marriage proposal to him in the same tweet.
“Shami Tum apna English sudharlo, I’m ready to marry you. (Rough Translation: Shami, improve your English, I’m ready to marry you). Her tweet went viral in no time, which triggered the netizens to chip in with their own views and opinions. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami has yet to respond to the marriage proposal. He wouldn’t bat an eye on this as he is focused on helping the team win the World Cup.
Mohammed Shami will be next seen in cricketing action in India’s upcoming game against the Netherlands at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, which will be India’s last group-stage game. India were the first team to qualify for the semi-finals after eight consecutive wins in the marquee event.
