Bangladesh have been in surreal form ever since they arrived in a foreign nation. So far, they have played a solitary Test and two ODIs. They came through flying colours in all these three games. They won the only Test by 220 runs.

The visitors provided a sensational start to the ODI series by winning the first game by 155 runs. They implied the winning formula in the second Test and won the game by 3 wickets. In the process, they also won the series by 2-0. They are just a victory away from whitewashing the hosts.

Brendan Taylor’s bizarre dismissal becomes the talking point

During the second ODI, Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor came out to bat at No.4. The skipper laid a solid platform by scoring runs patiently. He was en route to scoring a half-century including 5 fours and a six but he fell four runs short of the milestone.

He inadvertently gifted his wicket to the opposition and was dismissed bizarrely. The skipper himself went on to hit stumps with his bat in the process. The incident happened during the 25th over when Shoriful Islam delivered the goods for the team.

The left-arm pacer pitched in a bouncer and to which Taylor attempted playing a ramp shot towards the third-man region. Nonetheless, he failed to make any proper connection and the ball travelled behind the stumps, straight into the hands of the wicketkeeper.

As Taylor failed to middle the ball, he was absolutely gutted with himself. Soon after that, he went on a shadow-batting mood in the process. As it happened, he went on to smash the stumps and the bails fell down.

He was given out a hit wicket and Taylor departed after making 46. Madhevere top-scored with 56 as Zimbabwe posted 240/9 in 50 overs. Bangladesh chased down the target in 49.1 overs and won the game by 3 wickets. Shakib Al Hasan scored a match-winning 96 including 8 fours.
