Babar Azam registers first-ever golden duck in Test match versus Zimbabwe
Pakistan’s all-format captain Babar Azam made a real case for himself as a viable asset for his team. He has taken his batting to the next level and his consistency across formats is there for everyone to see in the modern era. It is fair to say that he is one of the best batsmen in the world and his statistics speak huge volumes.
Talking about his rankings, he is the No.1 batsman in ODIs and the No.1 batsman in T20Is. He is ranked second as far as the Test rankings are concerned. Recently, he became the fastest batsman to complete 2,000 runs in T20Is. He achieved the feat in 52 innings.
Azam achieved the landmark during the team’s deciding third and final T20 against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club. Pakistan went on to win the T20I series by 2-1. Following an impressive series win in the away conditions, Pakistan and Zimbabwe are locking horns with each other in the Test series.
The first of the two-match series is taking place at Harare Sports Club in Harare. Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bat first at home. They were bundled out for a paltry score of 176. Roy Kaia scored 48 runs including 7 boundaries. Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali wreaked havoc on the hosts’ batting line-up by taking 4 wickets each.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam who has been creating brilliant records of late has bagged an infamous record during the first Test match against Zimbabwe. Babar Azam was dismissed for a golden duck for the first time in red-ball cricket.
It was a brilliant field set-up by Zimbabwe Test skipper Brendan Taylor where Roy Kaia was positioned in front of the mid-on area. Pakistan captain came out to bat in the 66th over and he faced Donald Tiripano. Babar Azam tried to keep it low as he hit the ball down the ground but Roy Kaia comfortably took the catch.
