Former India captain MS Dhoni smokes Hookah; video goes viral
Former India skipper MS Dhoni regularly makes the headlines but it’s a different thing on this occasion. A clip of the cricketer doing rounds on the internet in which he can be seen smoking hookah.
While we can’t verify whether the video is latest or old, Dhoni can be seen taking a drag from a Hookah pipe and then exhaling the smoke. The video seems to be a social gathering where more people are doing the same.
The clip is receiving a mixed reaction from the public. While many are bashing him for influencing the youth in a bad way, others are leaving no stone unturned to defend him by stating that it’s his personal choice.
George Bailey revealed MS Dhoni’s love for Hookah
One might not have expected such a thing from health-conscious MS Dhoni but smoking is something is fond of for years. Former Australia skipper George Bailey had revealed the same last year.
Bailey played with the Dhoni in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS). He said that the Indian cricketer often set up Hookah in his room and discussed cricket with youngsters while smoking it.
“He likes smoking a bit of the sheesha or the hookah. So, he quite often would set that up in his room, and it was very much an open-door policy. You would go in and quite often find a lot of younger players there. For India or a lot of other cricket teams, it can be hierarchical, but he certainly broke that down,” he told Cricket Australia.
The 42-year-old is likely to lead the Chennai-based franchise in IPL 2024. It is expected to be his last season in the cash-rich league as per a hint provided by him last year.
