Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya receives royal welcome in Jamnagar; video goes viral

The newly-appointed Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya received a warm and royal welcome during his recent visit to Reliance Industries in Jamnagar, Gujarat. For the record, Mumbai Indians’ franchise is under the ownership of Reliance Industries, controlled through its subordinate company, Indiawin Sports.

Hardik Pandya kick-started his IPL career with Mumbai Indians in IPL 2015 season. Mumbai Indians roped the uncapped for INR 10 lakh in that season. Since then, he rose through the ranks by performing well in clutch moments of the game.

Since then, he became one of the key components of the franchise till the IPL 2021 season. He mustered 1476 runs and took 42 wickets to his credit. Notably, he was part of Mumbai Indians’ title-winning campaigns in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 seasons respectively.

Hardik Pandya gets a grand welcome during his visit to Reliance Industries

The video clip begins with the newly-appointed captain Hardik Pandya Pandya arriving in Jamnagar. He received a royal welcome with horses and lively band music and the clip has garnered the attention of the cricket fraternity.

After spending seven seasons with Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya was released ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. The all-rounder shifted his base to Gujarat Titans where he led the newly-inducted franchise for two seasons. Under his captaincy, Gujarat Titans won the title in the debut season.

The Ahmedabad-based franchise got the better of Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 final to clinch the maiden title. They also performed exceptionally well in the subsequent season by making it to the finals but lost to Chennai Super Kings in the showdown.

Surprisingly, Mumbai Indians traded Hardik Pandya from the Gujarat Titans (GT) last month. MI team management made a bold decision by appointing Hardik Pandya as the new captain, a move that caused chaos among the fans of the MI family.
