IPL 2024: 3 players CSK might release ahead of mini-auction
The mini-auction is all set to take place next month outside India. All the teams have already been given a deadline to submit their list of released and retained players for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be looking to strengthen their squad to better their chance of defending the title. Without further ado, let’s take a look at three players CSK can release ahead of the auction.
1) Simarjeet Singh
CSK bought Indian pacer Simarjeet Singh at a base price of INR 20 Lakhs at the IPL 2022 mega auction. He played six games that season but didn’t get a single game under his hat last year.
The return of Mukesh Choudhary and the availability of Deepak Chahar, Matheesha Pathirana, Tushar Deshpande, and Akash Singh will make it tougher for him to play in the next season.
Thus, Simarjeet might be released by the franchise in order to free up space for another talent. Given his age and potential to perform well, he can be picked by other franchises easily.
