Former cricketer, Brett Lee considers Yuzvendra Chahal as the GOAT of the Indian Premier League. The right-arm leg-break bowler has been one of the best bowlers in the history of the tournament. He did a terrific job for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tournament earlier, and now plays for the Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing 2023 season. The spinner finished the 2023 edition as their leading wicket-taker for the franchise.
In 14 matches, Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up 21 wickets at an average of 20.57 and an economy rate of 8.17. He has three four-wicket hauls to his name this season. Overall, he is the leading wicket-taker in the history of the tournament. The 32-year-old has 187 wickets at an average of 21.69, including 5/40 as his best bowling figures in the tournament. In a Q20s segment on Jio Cinema, Brett Lee termed Yuzvendra Chahal as the GOAT of the Indian Premier League.
“Yuzvendra Chahal is the GOAT of the IPL,” said the former Australian pacer.
Brett Lee also named the Rajasthan Royals as the most underrated player of all time in the league. “Yuzi Chahal is the most underrated player of all time in IPL,” stated Brett Lee.
Brett Lee picks the greatest all-rounder in the history of Tata IPL
Brett Lee feels the Pandya brothers, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya are the greatest all-rounders in the history of the Tata IPL. The duo started off their career for the Mumbai Indians and did a brilliant job for the franchise. In the 2022 IPL season, Hardik Pandya was signed by the Gujarat Titans, while Krunal Pandya went to the Lucknow Super Giants. This year, in a clash between the two teams, the Pandya brothers stood as the captains, making it the first time in the history of the IPL.
“Few all-rounders, I would go with the Pandya brothers, Hardik and Krunal,” said Brett Lee when asked about the greatest all-rounder in the history of Tata IPL.
Hardik Pandya will be leading the Gujarat Titans in their second consecutive final of the Indian Premier League. They will take on the Chennai Super Kings on Sunday, May 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
