Watch: Hasan Ali and Quinton de Kock clash with each other in Karachi Test
A cricket match without drama is not what everyone expects on the field. The game should possess thrill, drama, entertainment and other important factors. Sometimes, we have seen players crossing their limits to sledge players as a part of the banter. However, the banter can turn nasty if players lose control over their emotions.
During the first Test match between Pakistan and South Africa in National Stadium in Karachi, Hasan Ali infamously clashed with Proteas captain Quinton de Kock. The heated face-off happened for a moment and the video clip of the same is doing the rounds on social media platforms.
Pakistan cricketer Hasan Ali had engaged in a serious argument with Quinton de Kock on Day 2. The incident happened when Hasan Ali was given not out by the on-field umpire due to a no-ball. Earlier, the hosts were in all sorts of trouble when they were reduced to 27 for the loss of 4 wickets in the first innings. Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj ran riot as they took 2 wickets each.
However, Fawad Alam and Faheem Ashraf took the game away from the hosts by batting really well. Fawad Alam scored a century while Ashraf scored a decent 64. These crucial knocks helped the hosts post 378.
What happened between Hasan Ali and Quinton de Kock?
Earlier, South Africa were bundled out for 220 in the first innings. While they failed to live up to the reputation in the batting unit, they tried their best with their bowlers. Although they provided a good start by removing 4 wickets early on, they couldn’t hold on to the momentum.
Pakistan went past the 300-run mark and were looking firm to stretch a lead. While they were batting at 306/8, Hasan Ali and Nauman Ali were at the crease. Quinton de Kock brought Keshav Maharaj into the attack and the spinner bowled a terrific delivery to Hasan Ali. The batsman tried to play a shot but got a bottom edge as the ball crashed into the stumps.
Maharaj and South African players were celebrating the dismissal but Aleem Dar declared it a ‘no-ball’. Quinton de Kock was frustrated behind the stumps as he was keeping the wickets for more than 100 overs. It was when he tried to mess with Hasan Ali. Both the cricketers were involved in a heated discussion before the umpires had to intervene and calm them down.
