“He is trying to be a tarot reader” – Wasim Jaffer bashes Shoaib Akhtar for his comments on India’s T20 World Cup exit
The race to the semifinals in the T20 World Cup is heating up with each passing game. Things have taken an interesting turn in Group 2 after Pakistan’s defeat to Zimbabwe. The Asian giants are now standing on the verge of early elimination as they have to rely on other results to qualify for the knockouts.
Pakistan locked horns with the arch-rivals India in their opening game and lost the game courtesy of a superhuman effort from Virat Kohli. However, the Men in Green had a shocker in their next game as they lost to Zimbabwe by one run. Pakistan failed to chase down a mediocre target of 131 runs and their batting has been facing a severe backlash from the fans and cricket experts.
The former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar criticized Babar Azam & co. and called the current Pakistan team a group of average players. However, while basing the Pakistan team, he also passed his judgement on the Indian cricket team and said that Men in Blue won’t make it past the semifinals.
His comments haven’t been received in good spirits by the Indian fans as the former Pakistan pacer is facing a major backlash. The former India opener Wasim Jaffer has also criticized Shoaib Akhtar for his tasteless remarks.

Shoaib Akhtar is trying to be a Tarot reader: Wasim Jaffer
While speaking on a show on CricTracker, the former India opener hilariously trolled Shoaib Akhtar.
“You know those people who have a parrot in hand and they predict the future, the tarot readers. I think Shoaib Akhtar is doing the same thing. He can see the future, who is doing what. I think it’s a very loose statement coming from such a player who has played so much international cricket. You don’t need to say that, because the teams are playing well. You need to understand that India is playing well. They escaped to a win courtesy of Virat Kohli, but India has been playing well for a while and they have got all the bases covered to win an international event,” said Wasim Jaffer.
The former Aussie cricketer Stuart Law was also a part of the conversation and he also criticized Akhtar for his loose comment on the Indian cricket team. He agreed with Jaffer and opined that Shoaib Akhtar passed such a comment to get popular on social media.
“He’s a passionate supporter and an ex-player. You make a comment to make a conversation, to create waves and storms on social media. That’s exactly what he has done and it has worked perfectly for him. It’s a pretty flipping comment to make that they (India) will be gone by the end of the week, but I don’t think that’s going to be the case,” said Stuart Law.
