T20 World Cup 2022: 3 issues India need to sort out before their game against Pakistan

After losing to Pakistan for the first time in a World Cup game in history, India will once again kickstart their T20 World Cup campaign with an opener against their neighbours. The Men in Blue are all set to face Men in Green in their opening game of the Super 12 stage at the MCC on November 23. The two sides already had two thrilling contests in the recently-concluded Asia Cup 2022.

Despite having a strong side at their disposal, Indian fans are fearing a repeat of last year’s T20 World Cup game, where Pakistan defeated India in a one-sided game. Two factors have contributed massively to this fear – Pakistan’s unpredictability and some of the issues the Indian team are currrently going through.

India were well and truly assembled a strong squad for the T20 World Cup 2022. However, the injuries to Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have created massive issues for them. Alongside that, India are currently having a couple of issues regarding the form of players and the playing positions of certain players. 1. Yuzvendra Chahal’s form

Yuzvendra Chahal is India’s premier spinner in this competition. While India also have Ravi Ashwin in their ranks, Chahal is the attacking option among the two. However, the leggie hasn’t been in the best of form lately, failing to control the game in the middle overs.

Chahal has leaked too many runs and lost his unpredictability. In the recently concluded T20I series against Australia, he managed to pick up only two wickets in three matches and leaked runs at an alarming rate of 9.12.

However, he could be an asset for Men in Blue on the big grounds of Australia. Now, the team management will have to solve this riddle if they want to play Yuzi against Pakistan or want to go with a safer option in off-spinner Ravi Ashwin.
