IND vs SA 2022: “Replacement of Bhuvi and Harshal” – Twitter explodes as Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar rattle South Africa in powerplay
India began their last assignment ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia as they take on South Africa in the first T20I of the three-match series on Wednesday evening. With Bhuvneshwar Kumar not available for the series, the game was a perfect opportunity for the Indian team to test their bowling strength sitting on the bench.
India skipper Rohit Sharma won the crucial toss at a witch with some grass on it and invited the opposition to bat first. India included Deepak Chahar and Arshdeep Singh in the playing XI for the opening game. Men in Blue could not have asked for a better start as Deepak Chahar knocked out South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma on the final delivery of the opening over.
What followed next was mayhem as left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh accounted for three wickets in the 2nd over of the innings. First, Quinton de Kock got played on the 2nd delivery of the over and then Rilee Rossouw was the next one to go as he nicked his first delivery to the keeper. On the final delivery of the over, David Miller failed to account for Arshdeep’s Singh swing and got knocked over for a golden duck.
Indian pacers demolish South African batting inside the powerplay
South Africa failed to arrest the downfall of wickets as the youngster Tristan Stubbs was the next one to go as he edged the 3rd delivery of Deepak Chahar’s 2nd over to Arshdeep Singh to the third-man. Chahar and Arshdeep made the South African batting unit dance to their tunes as the Proteas finished the powerplay with a score of 30/5.
