“Who picked him for Australia?” – Fans rip apart Harshal Patel after another expensive spell
Indian pacer Harshal Patel had another bad day at the office as the Australian wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade once again took the pacer’s case to smash three maximums in the final over of Australia’s innings. The right-handed pacer returned from injury against Australia as he is considered a death specialist. He has already been picked in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2022 as he came under a serious scanner after a pathetic display of death bowling in the opening T20 game as India failed to defend a massive total.
India are up against Australia in the 2nd T20 game of the three-match series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur on Friday evening. The match had to be delayed for a long time thanks to a wet outfield courtesy of constant rain a day ago. In the end, a game of 8 overs each was played between the two sides.
Indian skipper Roiht Sharma won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first. His decision was backed by his bowlers as Axar Patel rocked Australia early with his left-arm spin. Australia were reduced to 31/3 after 3.1 overs. Australia skipper Aaron Finch tried to score quick runs from one end but returning Jasprit Bumrah castled him over with a toe-ripping yorker. It looked like the Men in Blue will restrict Australia under a par score but Matthew Wade counter-attacked to take his team to a fighting total.
Matthew Wade smokes Harshal Patel for three maximums in the final over
With Australia’s innings going nowhere, Matthew Wade took the matter into his own hands and gave the much-needed finish to Australia. He took the liking of Harshal Patel’s final over of the innings and smoked him for three sixes in the final over of the innings. In the end, Australia posted 90/5 in 8 overs as Wade returned unbeaten for 43 runs off 20 deliveries.
Harshal Patel was India’s most expensive bowler with the figures of 32 runs in 2 overs. Indian fans didn’t like the efforts of the death specialist and questioned his selection in India’s T20 World Cup squad.
