“Jos the Boss’ – Twitter explodes as Jos Buttler smashes 2nd-fastest ODI century in England’s history

Is there a better white-ball hitter than Jos Buttler at the moment? After feasting on runs in the 15th edition of the IPL and winning the orange cap, the wicketkeeper-batter decided to take the international cricket by storm.

On Friday, Jos Buttler took the Netherlands to the cleaners by scoring the second-fastest ODI century in England’s history. The right-handed batter completed a destructive hundred only off 47 deliveries and now he holds the record for the top three-fastest ODI centuries for England.

England are facing the hosts Netherlands in the opening game of the three-ODI series at the VRA Cricket Ground, Amstelveen on Friday. The hosts won the toss and invited the English side to bat first. The decision seemed to work for them as they managed to remove the dangerous Jason Roy in the 2nd over for one run. However, nothing worked for the Netherland thereon.

Philip Salt and Dawid Malan added 222 runs for the 2nd wicket and both batters completed their respective hundreds. Once Philip Salt got out, the Orange Army hoped to get some breathing space but walked Buttler walked in next.

Jos Buttler smashes a century off 47 deliveries

The English wicketkeeper carried his form from the IPL to the international cricket. Buttler brought the carnage to the Netherlands by smashing a 47-ball century. It is England history’s second-fastest century as he himself holds the record with a 46-ball hundred against his name.

Jos Buttler came to bat at the number four for England as Jason Roy and Philip Salt opened the batting. in the process, Buttler also missed out on equaling the AB de Villiers‘ record of the fastest 150. The English wicketkeeper reached his 150 off 65 deliveries.

In the end, Jos Buttler remained unbeaten for 162 off 70 deliveries, including seven boundaries and 14 maximums.

The fans could not keep their calm and went gaga over Jos Buttler’s record-breaking knock. They took Twitter to praise the destructive batter and let their emotions out.
