5 players Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) can release ahead of IPL 2023
KKR didn't have a great outing in IPL 2022 despite adding new names.

2. Ajinkya Rahane

In auctions for the Indian Premier League 2022, Kolkata Knight Riders signed veteran Indian batter Ajinkya Rahane for INR 1 crore. The right-handed batter was expected to lead KKR’s batting at the top and his knock in the tournament opener against Chennai Super Kings showed a lot of promise.
However, things went downhill for Ajinkya Rahane from there. The right-handed batter failed to impress with the bat and could only score 133 runs in 7 matches at an average of 19. Furthermore, he had a below-par strike rate of 103.90.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Kolkata-based franchise decides to move on from Ajinkya Rahane in search of a dynamic opening batter, who can contribute at a larger scale.
