5 players Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) can release ahead of IPL 2023
KKR didn't have a great outing in IPL 2022 despite adding new names.
4. Shivam Mavi
Kolkata Knight Riders broke the bank to bolster their pace attack as they signed young pacer Shivam Mavi for a whopping INR 7.25 crore. The franchise also backed the youngster to deliver as Mavi got a few games under his belt.
However, the right-arm pacer proved completely ineffective with the ball. In six matches, Shivam Mavi could only scalp five wickets at an average of 45.40. Furthermore, he had an alarming economy rate of 10.38.
Releasing Shivam Mavi would be a sensible move for KKR given the price tag of the pacer. They might opt to re-sign the pacer for a cheaper price while using the remaining funds to bring more reinforcements to the squad.
