Rinku Singh was roped in by KKR for INR 80 lakh in the IPL 2018 auction. He was due to play for them in IPL 2021 but was ruled out of the competition by a knee injury before he was replaced by Gurkeerat Singh Mann. However, in IPL 2022, he was retained by KKR.

He hogged the limelight for his quick-fire 42 of 23 balls against Rajasthan Royals, which helped him earn his first Man of the Match award. In IPL 2023, he achieved a record-breaking feat in an IPL match against Gujarat Titans wherein he smacked as many as five sixes in the final over of Yash Dayal’s bowling.

Rinku’s whirlwind knock helped KKR successfully chase down 29 runs, which is highest ever chase in the last over in the history of the IPL. Overall, he scored 893 runs in 46 appearances in the IPL at an average of 30.8 and an impressive strike rate of 143.3, including four half centuries.

3. Phil Salt

Phil Salt was one of the top scorers for KKR in the title-winning campaign. Having played 12 games for the franchise, he scored 435 runs to his name at an average of 39.55 and a strike rate of 182.01, laced with 4 fifties. Overall, he scored 650 three runs in 21 appearances in the IPL, including six half centuries at an impressive strike rate of 175.54.

His quick and aggressive starts have provided KKR with an attacking option at the top. He is one of the players KKR will look to retain without any doubt. The franchise immensely benefitted from Salt and Narine’s contributions as openers in the previous season, which KKR won the title.
