Over the years, Shardul Thakur has emerged as a game-changer for any side he plays for. He has developed into a handy bowling all-rounder courtesy of his ability with the bat. Thakur has a knack for providing crucial breakthroughs with the ball while scoring vital runs with the bat as well.
In 75 IPL matches, Shardul Thakur has bagged 82 wickets and scored 173 runs. Searching for an Indian all-rounder, Delhi Capitals broke the bank to sign him at the auction for IPL 2022. The Delhi-based franchise shelled out INR 10.75 crore to sign Shardul Thakur. The 31-year-old had a decent season but his economy rate was on the higher side.
In 14 matches last season, Shardul Thakur scored 120 runs and picked up 15 wickets at an economy rate of 9.78. As per reports, Delhi Capitals are looking to release the all-rounder ahead of next season. It will add a massive amount to their purse going into the auction and the franchise could sign two to three quality players for that amount.
