The Bangladesh pacer is a quality T20 player and has featured consistently in the Indian Premier League for several years now. In 46 IPL matches, the left-arm pacer has accounted for 46 wickets at an economy rate of 7.8. His pace variations in the death overs make him threatening on the Indian pitches.

In IPL 2022, Delhi Capitals signed the Bangladesh pacer for INR 2 crore to add some variety to their pace attack. In fact, Mustafizur also played 8 matches for the franchise in the absence of Anrich Nortje and did his job decently by scalping 8 wickets in 8 matches at an economy rate of 7.62.

However, once Nortje was back, Mustafizur was dropped to the bench. Furthermore, he hasn’t been in the best of form lately. Delhi Capitals already have two Indian left-arm pacers in their squad (Khaleel Ahmed and Chetan Sakariya). It would be tough for the Fizz to find a place in DC’s playing XI. Hence, the team management might opt to release him ahead of IPL 2023 to look for better options in the auctions.
