The 27-year-old is a perfect T20I material as he can play the format incredibly well, compared to Shubman Gill who lacks the tenacity to anchor the innings. On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikwad has shown the potential to offer quick starts or anchor the innings as needed.

The right-handed batter has already demonstrated in IPL and in international cricket that he has got potential to set the tone early in the innings. He scored 633 runs in 22 T20Is including 1 century and 4 fifties. On the IPL front, he scored 2380 runs, laced with two centuries and 18 fifties.
